ESCOR PROPERTY & Selpam

The old Marco Polo hotel was purchased with the view to upgrade the built-form and improve the operating business. National hotel operator, Rydges Hotels & Resorts, was appointed and Rydges North Melbourne was fully refurbished. The hotel features 70 modern guest rooms with conference facilities and a café and bar.

Escor Property’s initiative included the development of a medi-hotel service in conjunction with Melbourne Health.

Developed under the supervision of Daniel Burger and Paul Abrahams (whilst at Escor Property) responsibilities included:

  • Site selection, feasibilities & purchase

  • Formation of joint venture

  • Review of operations & establishing hotel redevelopment strategies including interior changes, exterior upgrades & operational changes

  • Management of design & town planning

  • Creation of scope of works & design direction

  • Builder negotiations & overseeing project manager

  • Ongoing owners representation

  • Development of medi-hotel concept with Melbourne Health.
