Daniel is a co-founder and director of Debuilt Property. With a background in architecture, construction, project management, development and finance, Daniel’s broad skill base and experience provides the expertise for identification and delivery of property opportunities from initial concept, commercial assessment, development implementation, through to project delivery.
Prior to establishing Debuilt, Daniel was a Director at Gresham Property (2006 – 2013). Whilst at Gresham, Daniel expanded his property capability to include property advisory, mezzanine finance for development and investment projects, negotiation with senior lenders, management of property debt risk, and recovery of problematic projects.
Prior to joining Gresham, Daniel spent ten years as CEO of Escor Property, (formerly Ridge Corp) a Smorgon family property investment and development company. Preceding this, Daniel worked in a variety of areas within the industry including, architecture, construction, development and project management.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Architecture, University of Melbourne, Graduate Diploma Building Project Management, VUT and is a Registered Architect.
Daniel’s passion in the delivery of quality built form that contributes to a cohesive and healthy community, through quality architecture, urban planning and places for people to eat, meet and live.
In addition to property, Daniel has undertaken a variety of community roles and projects. Daniel recently completed his term as President of Swimming Victoria, having served for six years on the Board. Daniel is also very active in fundraising through charity bike rides that have supported The Alfred Hospital, Canteen and The John McLean Foundation.
Paul Abrahams

Paul is a co-founder and director of Debuilt Property. Paul has an extensive and broad ranging experience in construction, project management, development management, asset management and property management.
Prior to Debuilt Property, Paul was the General Manager of Property for JGL Investments (2006-2016). In this role Paul was responsible for all aspects of JGL’s commercial property investments from development through to ongoing management.
In particular this role involved overseeing the asset and property management of 161 Collins Street including all aspects of the leasing, budget and expenditure forecasting and reporting. It also involved the masterplanning for a major refurbishment of the building and the ultimate sale of the building.
During his time at JGL, Paul was, and continues to be, the chairman of the Digital Harbour Holdings board which is responsible for developing a significant precinct within Melbourne’s docklands.
Before joining JGL, Paul was variously a development manager, project manager and construction manager at Escor Property (formerly Ridge Corp) a Smorgon family property investment and development company.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Building Construction Management, RMIT, and a Graduate Diploma Building Project Management, Victoria University.
Paul is proud of the quality of the projects with which he has been involved and the contribution that they have made to the urban landscape.
Through a keen interest in his children Paul has been heavily involved in junior sport, currently being president of the Genazzano College snowsports parents committee, being a committee member of AE ski club, and having numerous previous roles as either coach or team manager of a variety of junior sports teams.
Igor Pokidov

Prior to joining Debuilt Property, Igor has worked as a Development Analyst and has gained valuable experience in identifying new development opportunities, identifying highest and best use, undertaking over 300 feasibility studies and financial modelling of major mixed-use developments with residential, retail, commercial, hotel, build-to-rent, social and affordable housing components. The scale of developments modeled spans from small boutique residential to multi-staged mixed-use multi-billion-dollar developments with complex infrastructure requirements, as well as greenfield developments.
Prior to transition into property development, Igor worked as a full stack developer in IT sector for over 10 years. Capitalising on the transferable skills, he has developed and continuously improved a comprehensive proprietary financial model that is being used for projects of any complexity.
Igor holds a Master's Degree in Property Development and Investment from University of New South Wales.
Daniel Goldberg
Project Investment manager
Daniel has over 16 years of experience in the construction and real estate industry. He began as a cost consultant, then transitioned to contract administrator and site foreman roles. After moving to the UK in 2013, he spent nine years in a variety of roles including contract administrator, cost consultant, project manager, and development risk manager for banks. He returned to Melbourne in 2022, where he spent two more years in project management before joining Debuilt.
His extensive experience gives him a deep understanding of construction methodologies and practices, enabling him to deliver meticulous due diligence and project monitoring.
Daniel holds a Master in Real Estate Investment and Finance from the University of Reading (Henley Business School), a Bachelor in Property and Construction from the University of Melbourne, and is a qualified Quantity Surveyor with RICS.
Carmelo De Francesco
Project co-ordinator
Carmelo joined Debuilt Property as Project Co-Ordinator in 2024, with a focus on research, due diligence, feasibility assessment, cost control and project monitoring.
Prior to joining Debuilt, Carmelo gained a wealth of experience in both the property and legal sectors. He worked as a property valuer for a national property valuation firm providing valuation, advisory and consultancy services, and as a solicitor handling complex criminal matters throughout Victoria.
Carmelo holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and Graduate Diploma in Property. He is also admitted as an Australian Lawyer and holds Residential Property Valuer certification from the Australian Property Institute.
Ellen Cusack

Ellen joined Debuilt Property in late 2022 as the Communications Manager, focusing on marketing and communications for the company.
With over 15 years experience in marketing and communications she began her career in the finance sector and moved into insurance working at AIA Australia for 8 years. From there she worked in construction and gained an interest in property and construction.
She is a self-motivated and creative communications professional with years of experience in a variety of marketing, events management and communications roles. Her diligent work ethic and adaptable skill set has allowed her to drive key projects and events to great success.

Prior to joining Debuilt Property as an Assistant Development Manager, Vicky has spent 10 years honing her skills in design, project management and multi-disciplinary team organisational roles in commercial architecture firms in Australia and Hong Kong.
She has extensive experience across a range of sectors, including civic, commercial and multi-residential projects. Vicky has worked on all stages of building development, with a strong focus on liaison with clients, authorities, consultants and contractors. Vicky has a passion for working with teams. She is focused on bringing together and facilitating the work of a broad range of experts to deliver projects that are high quality outcomes for clients.
Vicky holds a Bachelor of Architecture & Bachelor of Planning and Design, University of Melbourne.
Joining Debuilt in 2024, Patrick assists with facets of Due Diligence, Project Monitoring and General Administration. Patrick is currently completing his Bachelors of Construction Management at Victoria University and in his spare time enjoys travelling and sports of all kinds.
Maria has amassed extensive expertise over her 30-year career, spanning roles in Hospitality and Events Management, high-level sales support, project coordination, and PA and office management. Her experience crosses a diverse array of industries, ranging from consumer electronics to craft breweries.
Qualified with a Bachelor of Business in Catering and Hotel Management, Maria is well-versed in the workings of the commercial world. In her leisure time, she finds enjoyment in reading, cooking, travelling, and avidly following rugby.
Alan Synman has been a practising architect since 1968. In 1976 he founded Synman Justin Bialek Architects (SJB) which was to become a prominent national architectural practice, with offices in Melbourne & Sydney and together with its associated companies, still employs over 120 people.
Alan’s leadership, drive and commitment at SJB allowed it to expand its areas of expertise, creating SJB Planning (a successful town planning practice), SJB Interior Design (an award-winning interior design company) and in July 2000 SJB/FKA Architects was formed (now known as Plus Architecture) through an exciting initiative with Fender Katsalidis Architects.
The growth of the practice was due not only to Alan and SJB’s significant contribution to the built environment, but also the firm’s ability to adapt to changing social and economic times, to respond appropriately to clients and to recognise and support the skills of its staff.
After retiring from SJB Architects, Alan has remained engaged in architecture and property through his involvement with the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, private projects and his role on the Board of aged care provider, Emmy Monash.
